Growth expectations for the wind industry are greater than growth expectations for the Chinese economy.
•
Only a limited part of the potential wind energy is utilized.
•
A single, well-placed 2 MW wind turbine can cover the electricity consumption for 2000 households per year.
•
A wind turbine has the same sound level as ordinary speech.
•
Birds fly past wind turbines.
•
Wind turbines reduce CO2 emissions.
•
Wind energy is a free, inexhaustible renewable resource.
•
Wind energy is a source of clean, non-polluting electricity. A single, well-placed 750 kW wind turbine can prevent the emission of 5000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. It would take 500 acres of forest to absorb that much CO2.
•
Wind turbines can help increase our nation's energy security. They are modular, quickly constructed and, the energy they produce displaces imported fuels. It is estimated that existing wind installations are saving over 0.5 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas per day.
•
Wind energy provides more jobs per dollar invested than any other energy technology.
•
Wind power plants increase property tax revenues for local communities.
•
Wind power can be installed without ANY capital investment.
•
Wind energy is eligible for a variety of state and federal financial incentives, grants, loans and/or other subsidies.
•
Wind energy comes from the sun.
•
Wind energy can supply up to -20% of our nation’s electricity by 2020.
•
Modern wind turbines are equipped with high-tech computers and power electronics that process over 200 types of data, from wind speeds and oil temperature to voltage dips on the grid. “Smart” wind turbines can help make the electricity transmission system more reliable.
•
Large wind projects can increase the county tax base adding revenue to schools and other social programs.
•
More wind power means less smog, acid rain, and greenhouse gas emissions.
•
Wind energy brings jobs and income to revitalize rural communities and bolster farm incomes against bad weather.
•
Worldwide, the wind and solar industries are likely to be one of the biggest sources of new manufacturing jobs in the next century.
•
Domestic wind energy will never be subject to embargoes or price fluctuations caused by international conflicts.
•
Think like an artist! Modern wind turbines are graceful, kinetic sculptures that are inspirational and visually striking.
•
Annual wind energy that could be supplied is equal to 20 billion barrels of oil per year. Unlike oil fields, wind energy is renewable.
Pfister Energy offers a wind power energy solution to help businesses offset increased demands and escalating costs of electricity. This sustainable and renewable energy system is able to generate and distribute electricity at a wide variety of locations and industry-types in the northeast.
Pfister Energy specializes in building-integrated vertical axis wind turbines. These lightweight turbines are easily integrated into any building's architecture. They work well in both fractured urban wind environments and in low-wind regimes. The turbines capitalize on the effects of a building's architectural wind patterns on and around buildings.
Right now, growth of wind energy is being driven by the commitment from many industrialized nations, including the United States, to reduce greenhouse gases. The cost of wind energy has gradually fallen, as technology has improved.
New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program is promoting the use of wind power through education and financial incentives making wind power more affordable and cost effective. Now you can invest in the best-performing equipment to realize substantial energy cost savings as well as environmental benefits through the use of the cleanest forms of energy.
How does a Wind Turbine work?
Wind is created by the unequal heating of the Earth's surface by the sun. The wind is slowed dramatically as it brushes the surface of the Earth, however, the power in the wind may be five times greater at the height of a 40-story building than the breeze on your face.
Wind turbines are positioned on top of buildings or on high poles to “collect” these higher winds. The wind turns the blades or “rotors” of the wind turbine, which spin a shaft, which connects to a generator. The generator converts the rotational movement into electricity at medium voltage. A transformer then increases the voltage to make storage and transmission of your power easier and less prone to power loss.
Whether the wind is blowing at 6 mph or 135 mph, the omni-directional wind turbine is designed to align itself with the direction of the wind and wind speed to maximize power output.
Who can use Wind Energy?
If your business or facility is using more than 1 million-kilowatt hours of electricity annually and you are concerned about rising electrical usage and costs, wind energy may be an option for you.
Typical wind energy customers include:
•
Commercial, municipal and industrial users who pay the highest
rates of electricity
•
Remote locations and communities where the cost of energy is
extremely high
•
Businesses and communities where diesel generators supply
electricity
Let Pfister Energy determine if your location and wind regime (the pattern of your winds) make you a candidate.
Where can Wind Turbines be installed?
Wind turbines can be installed as a single unit or in multiples, as a “farm”, to generate even more power.
Typical east coast sites include:
•
Urban, suburban, rural, remote and off-grid communities
•
Rooftop or ground installations
•
Coastal or inland locations
