Pfister Energy installed a 49.368 kW solar- integrated roofing system on the roof of Pfizer, Inc.'s B98 Operations & Logistics Warehouse in Groton, Connecticut. Flexible, lightweight Uni-Solar photovoltaic laminates were applied directly to the surface of the roofing system. This combination created a durable, practical energy-producing roof. By using thin-film photovoltaic laminates, access to the roof is not restricted, so compromises for servicing roof-mounted equipment does not have to be made. Additionally, roof loading is a non-issue due to the fact that the laminates weigh less than one pound per square foot, a tiny fraction of the weight of glass-based photovoltaic panels.
