Platinum Sponsor NJ CEC The
2007 Clean Energy Conference & Leadership Awards was held at
the New Brunswick Hyatt Regency on September 27 and 28,
2007. Some of the major themes of this year's Clean Energy
Conference & Leadership Awards was information related to
global warming, climate change solutions, and energy
efficiency technologies.
The event was successful and well attended. Pfister Energy
as the Platinum sponsor of the event, was asked to speak at
the awards luncheon. Our very own CEO, Dieter Pfisterer,
gave an entertaining speech about the importance of energy
efficiency and the emergence of renewable technologies.
Pfister Energy hosted a reception after the conference on
Friday evening which was also a success.
We would like to thank everyone who attended both the
conference and the cocktail party. It was spectacular to
meet everyone and we sincerely hope you had a great time. We
look forward to attending the conference again next year.

Pfister Energy to
Introduce New Technologies
Rain Water
Harvesting -
There's money literally falling
from the skies every time it rains. There are
systems available that help to mitigate roof runoff
and restore the natural flow of rainwater into the
ground. These systems, called
rainwater harvesting systems, consist of tanks that
collect rainwater from rooftop downspouts and then
store the water for later use outdoors, such as
landscaping and irrigation.
Solar Thermal
Technology-
Solar thermal technology
converts radiant solar energy (sunlight) to heat.
This heat can then be harvested to produce power,
heat water for industrial uses, passively or
actively heat space, or cool space with an
absorptive cooling system. The primary advantage of
hybridization and thermal storage is that the
technologies can provide dispatchable power and
operate during periods when solar energy is not
available. Hybridization and thermal storage can
enhance the economic value of the electricity
produced and reduce its average cost.
Pfister Energy Purchases Two Hybrid Vehicles
To date, hybrids on American roads have saved 5.5
million barrels of fuel, according to a new study
from the Department of Energy's National Renewable
Energy Lab. That's less than one full day's worth of
fuel over a seven year period. The emergence of
hybrids is one small but necessary step toward
reducing the use of petroleum. How is
Pfister leading the way?
We are proud to announce the recent purchase of two
hybrid vehicles. Wayne Pfisterer, President of
Pfister Energy, is committed to making the workplace
a rewarding and fulfilling place to work, coupled
with his commitment to protecting the planet,
Pfisterer believes as a business owner, this is
simply the right thing to do.
Pfister Energy employee Jeff Pruneau, Project
Manager/Engineer, received the clean-operating
Ford Escape Hybrid which produces near zero
smog-forming emissions.

emissions

UPDATE ON THE PROGRESS OF THE
FAST-MOVING ENERGY BILL IN WASHINGTON
As you probably know, the 2007
Congressional Energy Bill has been going through some
serious debate and conference on Capitol Hill. You may even
have been one of those solar citizens who took the trouble
to e-mail your senators and representative in the last week
to insist on adequate provisions for solar energy in the
bill (so far, nearly 8000 e-mails have been sent in the last
ten days. If one of them was yours, thanks for your help!)
The Energy Bill is now in conference on
Capitol Hill, and we expect to have to work on all our
representatives and senators (as well as focusing in on
particularly influential congresspersons) in the weeks
ahead. We may even have to "go to the well" multiple times,
which gives you an idea of how crucial this legislation is.

legislation stands today, click here.
Tom Ryan, Sales Engineer and
Ericka Macko, Sales & Marketing Coordinator of Pfister Energy, who
is a recognized partner of the event, attended "A Conversation on
Energy" which was hosted by ConocoPhillips and Rutgers University
Energy Institute on Wednesday, September 19, 2007. The Town
Hall Meeting, held at the Trenton Marriott at Lafayette Yard,
included speakers from ConocoPhillips and invited panelists such as
the Honorable Lisa Jackson, commissioner, New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection; Dr. Paul Falkowski, acting director,
Rutgers University Energy Institute; and Sara Bluhm, Assistant Vice
President of Energy and Federal Affairs of the New Jersey Business
and Industry Association.
ConocoPhillips believes it's up to today's energy leaders to set the
stage for tomorrow's energy solutions, from alternatives like
renewable fuels to traditional sources like oil and gas. To better
understand the public's view on energy issues and to share
information on what ConocoPhillips is doing to address those issues,
the company is hosting town hall meetings and community events in
cities big and small across America, and bringing together energy
experts and concerned citizens to discuss ways to secure our energy
future. The tour consists of town hall meetings and community events
in which the company will engage area residents and energy users,
and local community and business leaders, to discuss energy
solutions that are reliable, available and environmentally friendly.
Local citizens are invited to ask questions and offer suggestions,
while discussing supply/demand issues and energy alternatives with
industry experts. These conversations on energy are the first
steps in a dialogue needed to address today's energy challenges.

Wayne was the featured speaker at the CBT Architects 2nd Annual
Greenday Festival event which was held on March 16, 2007. This
event was attended by several hundred architects and outside guests.
Building integrated technology, their design into new construction,
the benefits and the incentives for this technology were the
highlights of his speech.
Pfister Energy Installs our first Vertical-axis wind turbine at Corporate HQ!
Exciting things are happening at
Pfister Energy! We now have our first vertical-axis
wind turbine installed on our rooftop in Paterson making it the
first of its kind installed on the East Coast! A vertical-axis
turbine takes advantage of the low and fractured wind regimes of
urban areas. These turbines are lightweight,
building-integrated solutions, capitalizing on the individual wind
dynamics that are inherent to each building.

Testifying before the Connecticut
Legislature
In August, we spoke in front of the
Connecticut State Legislature at the Legislative Energy Summit.
The topics were about renewable and alternative energy issues
and the different technologies available, and encouraged
lawmakers to make it easier and more economical for businesses
and residents to utilize Renewable Energy alternatives. We
are working on a video clip, but for now please move your
progress bar to hour 4:24:55 to
see the appearance.
The maze,
which is cut into some four acres of cornfield, takes the shape
of a historic windmill this year to celebrate the historic
preservation and inauguration of an authentic, historic
windmill, which will be permanently installed Howell Farm’s
historic site to pump water. Mercer County Executive Brian M.
Hughes and some local school children took part in the hoisting
of the historic windmill, which is presently situated at the
entrance of the windmill-shaped labyrinth.
Pfister
Energy was on hand to display its modern, electricity-generating
wind
turbine as a depiction of present-day “windmill” technology.
Pfister, along with Hughes, conducted an informative question
and answer session about renewable energy topics with the local
school kids, prior to conducting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on
the modern turbine. The Howell Farm is planning
to install a modern wind turbine to generate electricity at its
workshop and maintenance facility located near the maze.
Solar-Integrated
Roofing
Pfister
Energy, working with Uni-Solar and Soprema, developed a unique
energy-saving solution for Valley National Bank (Wayne, NJ). A
first of its kind, flexible solar panels were adhered directly
to SBS Bitumen roofing material to create a lightweight solar
roof with a simple payback of less than eight years. With a
lifespan of 30 years and a 20-year joint warranty from both
manufacturers,
Valley National Bank's new roof could be generating revenue for
over 20 years!
