About the role

The Business Development Manager (EPC) is responsible for taking the lead on all EPC opportunities from initial contact through contracting. The EPC Account Manager will be responsible for leading strategies to obtain new customers for our EPC business and maintain relationships with existing customers.  The individual will be able to demonstrate why the customer should choose Pfister Energy to design, construct, and maintain the solar array over other offerings in the marketplace. Strong analytical skills and multi-faceted communication strategies are required for this position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Curate high level relationships with new and current Pfister Energy customers (solar developers, financiers, and IPPs) by engaging with key decision makers within the customer’s organization including procurement, engineering, construction, legal, and executive management.
  • Generate new business through presentations for potential customers.
  • Manage the pipeline of EPC opportunities, by tracking progress and next steps for each project/portfolio.
  • Take the lead on RFP responses by reviewing all documents, understanding SOW and schedule, communicating requirements to pre-construction team, generating proposals, and following up.
  • Identify customers, portfolio, and project risks and create mitigation strategies.
  • Part of team that negotiates LNTPs and EPC Contracts
  • Identify and close gaps in feedback loop between engineering, estimating, procurement, and operations to ensure successful partnerships with clients.
  • Recommend regional business development strategies and tactics to the company’s leadership team by utilizing unique and detailed understanding of geographic markets.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proven leadership, administrative, and organizational abilities
  • A strong desire and passion for finding new business opportunities.

Qualifications/Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Solar EPC Business Development, Preconstruction, or Project Management
  • Sales experience preferably in solar industry, energy services industry, or construction industry.
  • Ability to travel as necessary (less than 10%)
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, CRM software)
